Arnaud Hereu was born in Bordeaux, where he first studied enology and began his winemaking career. His adventuresome spirit led him to explore South Africa and California, along with Chile, where he eventually made his home and became a highly-respected winemaker. In 2006, after several years working for others, he set out to produce a wine he could call his own. He explored Chile extensively, traveling to remote corners to discover unique properties that he felt possessed a potential for greatness. One such site is a 70 year-old carignan vineyard whose fruit was blended with malbec and syrah to create his inaugural blend. Called simply Hereu, the wine reflects his eclectic character and bears a whimsical label image created by his youngest son.
