The wines of Vina Cobos are comprised of three distinct tiers – Cobos, Bramare and the Nativo Collection.
The Marchiori Vineyard, primary source of fruit for the Vina Cobos wines, is nestled at the foot of the Andes Mountains in the unique microclimate of Perdriel – a prefecture of Mendoza and an outstanding environment for malbec and other varietals.
The Andes Mountains significantly influence the climatic conditions in Perdriel by blocking the masses of moist air that originate over the Pacific Ocean creating an arid, semi-desert environment ideal for growing fruit with tremendous concentration. They also provide a vital reserve of water for irrigation. Because of Mendoza’s low relative humidity, common vine diseases, including phylloxera, are limited. The high altitude of the Marchiori Vineyard, in combination with its well-drained, low-in-organic-material soils, allows for grapes to grow in an essentially organic environment.
This exhilarating landscape and climate cause the vines to struggle, bringing out the beauty of grapes in a way that is unequalled in the rest of the world.
